Hotel Review: Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Madison West, WI
A Home Away From Home
One of my favorite things to do is lounge at home in pj's, slippers, no makeup, turn on the T.V., and cuddle up to a movie. Right now, scary movies are my favorite!
I don't get to do this often because I work so much and have a million-and-one things to do, so when I do get the chance, I soak it up thoroughly.
This weekend I went to Madison, which is about 3 hours south of Rhinelander, and stayed at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Madison West, Wisconsin, for a little "staycation."
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Madison West, Wisconsin
This place made me like I was right at home. There's a cozy "living room" lounge area with couches, coffee table, reading seat, books, and a fireplace the moment you walk in.
A cafeteria kitchen area sits just beside the lounge with free breakfast in the morning with tons of options - eggs, potatoes, cereal, muffins, donuts, waffle maker, fruit, coffee, juices, and much more.
On the other side of the lounge is check-in. The staff was super friendly and made registration fast and easy. There's a "cookie jar" with fresh macadamia nut cookies - they advise all guests to have as many as they'd like. I probably ate 20, and I don't regret it - they were so good!
Studio Suite, 1 King Bed, Accessible, Non Smoking
After touring my studio suite, it was clear I was going to leave it anytime soon. It looked and felt like a small, well-decorated apartment with heat and air-conditioning.
The suite had a living room with couches and chairs, flat-screen T.V. with cable, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, kitchen table, closet with iron/ironing board.
A giant king-size bed took over the bedroom beautifully. Side tables, USB outlets, flat-screen T.V., work desk area, love seat, closet, and large wall mirror accompanied it. The room was spacious, even with the ginormous bed.
Oh, and I can't forget the bathroom. It was almost as big as the bedroom! Large shower/tub equipped with shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, and lots of towels. It also had large mirror spaces and a blow dryer to get ready in comfort.
Saturday, I planned to do a little site-seeing, but I ended up staying in, cuddling up on the couch in my pj's, and binge-watching scary movies. It was my home away from home - it felt amazing!
Affordable! Rooms range from $65 - $112 a night.
I have not one complaint. I give it 5 stars.
